Bogdanka pledges support for the Platinum Motor Lublin speedway riders for another season

Bogdanka, a leading Polish hard coal producer, will act as a strategic sponsor of the Platinum Motor Lublin speedway riders in the upcoming season. The agreement for the next season was signed at the Company’s head office, on Thursday, 14 December 2023. The history of Bogdanka’s support for Lublin’s speedway dates back to 2010, and the current decision to continue the cooperation was made on the basis of a variety of factors, including an analysis of the sponsorship project’s effectiveness.

Bogdanka becomes a laureate of the ESG Innovator 2023 contest

Bogdanka has become a laureate of the ESG Innovator 2023 contest in category [G] – Innovation in Corporate Governance. The Company has received the Golden Award for creating Poland’s first Scientific Council for Environmental Protection operating at a mining company. The Council is an external and fully independent advisory team of experts charged with the task of issuing opinions for the LWB Management Board pertaining to investments and other decisions related to environmental aspects and impact.

Festive St. Barbara's Day at Bogdanka

Traditionally, on 4 December, St. Barbara's Day, the mining community at LW Bogdanka celebrated the Miners' Day. The event was an opportunity for the presentation of 287 awards and distinctions, the official unveiling of the Miners' Memorial Monument and expressing wishes on the occasion.

Bogdanka publishes Q3 results

LW Bogdanka S.A. has published its consolidated financial results after the first 3 quarters of 2023. LW Bogdanka Group's revenue for the period was PLN 2,688.8 million. EBITDA reached PLN 673.4 million, operating profit PLN 309.0 million and net profit PLN 256.7 million.

Record longwall progress in October

We now know summary data on coal production at Bogdanka for last month. In October 2023, longwall 7/VIII/389 (longwall 7, mining lot VIII, seam 389) in the Stefanów mining field achieved a record progress, i.e. 465 meters per month. For the Bogdanka mine, this is the largest monthly longwall progress in the 41 years of its coal production.

Bogdanka with the 2nd Grand Prize for The Best Annual Report

Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A.'s 2022 Annual Report received the 2nd grand prize in the corporate category at the 18th edition of The Best Annual Report competition for regulated market issuers and the 11th edition for the alternative market. Bogdanka received a distinction last year, and this year it is among the top 3 companies listed on the WSE's main market.

LW Bogdanka will be soon held by the State Treasury

On 10 October 2023, in Warsaw the State Treasury and Enea S.A. signed a prelimina10 10 ry agreement confirming the State Treasury’s intention to purchase all Enea’s shares in LW Bogdanka. At the same time, the trade unions operating at Bogdanka signed two agreements - with the Ministry of State Assets and the Bogdanka Management Board - securing the social interests of the mine's employees.

Together for Poland's raw material security - KGHM and Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka signed a letter of intent on cooperation

Plans for joint mining projects regarding raw materials of the future, cooperation and building Poland's energy independence - KGHM and Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka have signed a letter of intent on cooperation in, among other things, securing access to raw materials of key importance for a sustainable transition. The document was adopted at the National Economic Summit in Lublin.
