Last year at Bogdanka closed with record investments in improving occupational safety. OHS spending reached nearly USD 195 million. In addition to investing in equipment, training and personal protective equipment, Bogdanka conducted numerous educational and information activities. Work on improving occupational health and safety conditions at the mine will continue this year.
Considering the still great interest in the purchase of coal produced by LW Bogdanka among households and the need to ensure that residents are able to collect coal efficiently in view of the next heating season, we have restored the possibility for households to purchase coal directly for the new 2023/2024 heating season. Purchases will be made through sign-ups, which should be made at the coarse coal sales outlet in Bogdanka.
The main assembly work on the construction of a new photovoltaic farm in Bogdanka, Lubelskie Voivodeship, has been completed. The 5.66-hectare plot has already 5,552 high-efficiency, double-sided photovoltaic panels assembled. The new farm will have a capacity of 3 MWp.

LW Bogdanka S.A. has published its Q1 2023 financial results. The LW Bogdanka Group’s revenue climbed 28.5% in this period to PLN 940.7 million from PLN 731.8 million last year. EBITDA was PLN 291.6 million (up by 5.5%), operating profit was PLN 155.8 million and net profit was PLN 126.2 million.

Bogdanka has become the main sponsor of the “Lubelskie Perła Polski” cycling group, which brings together cyclists in the Orlik U-23 category. The cycling group from Lublin includes a cyclist from Poland’s national team, current junior track cycling world champion and vice-champion Dominik Ratajczak. The State Treasury will buy out the shares of Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka. The mine acquisition process should be completed this summer. Mine authorities say the decision will, first and foremost, ensure energy security for a significant area of Poland. In addition, the changes will give a dynamic boost to the Company's ambitious new strategic goals.
