Bogdanka as the main sponsor of the “Lubelskie Perła Polski” Cycling Club

Bogdanka has become the main sponsor of the “Lubelskie Perła Polski” cycling group, which brings together cyclists in the Orlik U-23 category. The cycling group from Lublin includes a cyclist from Poland’s national team, current junior track cycling world champion and vice-champion Dominik Ratajczak. The signing of the agreement, in the presence of legendary cyclist - world champion and Olympic silver medalist Zenon Jaskuła - took place on Monday, 20 March 2023 in Lublin.

The Lubelskie Perła Polski is a unique sports project launched in September 2022. The club brings together professional road cyclists in the Orlik (U-23) category. The team consists of 9 talented cyclists.

I am convinced that our cooperation will contribute to the development of cycling not only in the Lublin region, but also across Poland. I am glad that Bogdanka will support young, talented cyclists in their passion for this sport. Cycling is a sport that requires endurance, determination and, just like among miners, hard work. Therefore, seeing this commitment and the first huge successes, I am convinced that this is only the beginning of the careers of the athletes from the Lublin group.

said Kasjan Wyligała, President of the Management Board of Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka.

In addition to Dominik Ratajczak, the team includes Łukasz Juszczak and Mikołaj Szulik - winners of Polish championship titles in youth categories, winners of prestigious races and also - representatives of the Polish national team.
The meeting was also attended by legendary Polish cyclist Zenon Jaskuła. Our world vice-champion, Olympic vice-champion, winner of the Volta e Portugal and winner of 3rd place in the Tour de France talked about the importance of ambition, regularity and cooperation between the cycling team and sponsors in sports.

The goal of the “Lubelskie Perła Polski” team for 2023 is to win Polish championship medals, participate and succeed in UCI international races, and come first in the ranking of Polish U-23 teams. Later this year we plan to register a professional group and from 2024 we want to start as the third Polish professional cycling group in the UCI Continental division. Our region deserves the reactivation of cycling at the highest level. The attainment of such goals is only possible in cooperation with strong partners, and these include Bogdanka and the Lubelskie Voivodeship, which also supports us.

added Andrzej Boras, president of the Lubelskie Perła Polski Cycling Club.

This year Lubelskie Perła Polski wants to compete in dozens of races, including the Carpathian Race (UCI U23), the 1st ŠKODA CUP - Velká Bíteš and the Polish Championships (UCI), which will be held in the Mazovia Region.
