Sustainable Development Policy

LW Bogdanka pursues conscious management of the mine’s impact on the environment and climate change. We monitor water consumption and apply reduction measures in the form of closed-circuit water circulation. We continually decrease the volume of produced waste, prevent mining damage, and are striving to reduce environmental emissions from our operations. 

We support our immediate surroundings and the local community, e.g. by pursuing a number of social initiatives aimed at developing the cultural, scientific, educational and health dimensions, building municipal infrastructure, and addressing other needs of the Company’s local community. We want our region to be well-developed and safe to live in. 

Our management and corporate governance are based on the best ESG practices as well as ethical and moral obligations. Bogdanka is an efficiency leader, whereas the Company’s practices and processes are guided above all by responsibility and dialog with all stakeholder groups. 

Our organization operates in support of the Bogdanka community, especially miners’ families and inhabitants of the region. It conducts charitable activities to support disadvantaged individuals and groups, as well as initiatives in the area of better health, saving lives, disease prevention and development.

The emotional experience provided by sports and cultural events is priceless. In Bogdanka, we are very well aware of it, and therefore support local community and cultural initiatives, as well as the sports teams from the region.
