The Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. mine is located in the Central Coal District (CRW), in the northeastern, best-explored part of the Lublin Coal Basin.

Geographically, the Central Coal District lies within the boundaries of the Polesie Lubelskie region, with only small portions stretching to into the Lublin Upland. In administrative terms, the Bogdanka mine is located in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, in the Puchaczów township.

The Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka Group is one of the leaders of the hard coal producer market in Poland.

We stand out in comparison with our peers in terms of financial results and coal mining efficiency. The hard coal produced by the Company is used predominantly for the production of electricity and heat.
Bogdanka's customers are mainly industrial companies, primarily those operating in the power sector, located in eastern and northeastern Poland. We are part of the Enea Group, one of the leaders of the Polish energy market.LW Bogdanka S.A. is a reliable and credible coal supplier for the commercial power sector, which maintains its competitive advantage in a manner ensuring a constant growth in the Company’s value and develops as regards OHS standards, environmental protection and implementation of innovative technical and organizational solutions.



The Company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2009. Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. is the parent company of the Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka Group. The activities of the subsidiaries have primarily a supporting function.
The Company is listed on the following indices: WIG140, mWIG40TR, WIG30TR, WIG30, WIG-GÓRNICTWO, WIG-Poland, mWIG40, WIG and WIG-ESG.


The mine operates in the following Mining Areas:

  • " Puchaczów V" with an area of approx. 73.36 km2, 
  • " Puchaczów V" with an area of approx. 73.36 km2,
  • "Ludwin" with an area of approx. 78.67 km2,

 

In the "Cyców" Mining Area, with an area of approx. 40.73 km2, roadway works are being carried out to make the coal deposit accessible for future mining.
The mine's mining areas are divided into three mining fields - the Bogdanka field, the Stefanów field and the Nadrybie field. Each field has a pair of shafts: a ventilation shaft and a supplies and personnel transportation shaft.


The initial construction of the Mine was accompanied by great adversities of complex nature, but the determination of the crew led to the launch of the first longwall on 30 November 1982. Since then, invariably thanks to the perseverance and consistency of dedicated employees, LW Bogdanka has enjoyed a reputation for applying the highest standards in the mining industry.
