Zone C
Welcome to Zone C
At the mine site, in the Management Building, there is a special educational zone offering classes and workshops run by experienced guides. The offer is aimed at organized preschool and school groups, and the tour is free of charge. During one-hour-long classes, children and young people will learn about the specifics of miners' work underground, the more than 40-year history of hard coal mining in the Lublin Coal Basin and innovative solutions related to the future of Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A.
Zone C includes specially prepared thematic rooms. The first room, in which visitors learn about mining traditions and costumes, the history of the mine, and coal mining methods, is equipped with a mock-up depicting the entire complex - the three mining fields and the space around the mine. Visitors will hear mining legends, including the story of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners. They will watch a film showing, among other things, the daily work of miners using specialized machinery and the process of coal mining.
The next room displays memorabilia, awards and historical symbols collected over several decades. In the third room visitors will see an imitation an underground roadway, a coal carriage and real darkness. When the lights go out, you can feel like a miner working a kilometer underground.
