Despite the currently unfavorable geological conditions and Bogdanka's production profile aimed mainly at the supply of fine coal to the commercial power generation segment, the company is making every effort to ensure the availability of heating coal for municipalities in the Lubelskie Voivodeship located in the counties closest to us, to the extent of its current production capacity.
Miner's Day celebrations at Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka have come to an end. For two days, nearly 270 people were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals of the President of the Republic of Poland for long service, 17 mining ranks were conferred, 80 honorary mining swords and daggers, and 5 pickaxes were presented.
On Tuesday, 30 November 1982, at 10:50 a.m., the first longwall was launched on level 922 of the “Samsonowicz” shaft in Bogdanka, which began coal mining in the Lublin Coal Basin. Thus, today marks exactly 40 years since the first ton of coal was mined from Bogdanka!
LW Bogdanka S.A. has published its Q1 2022 financial results. The LW Bogdanka Group’s revenue climbed 30.1% in this period to PLN 731.8 million from PLN 562.4 million last year. EBITDA was PLN 276.5 million, operating profit was PLN 179.7 million and net profit was PLN 143.2 million.
The Strategy presented by Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka is a response to the challenges posed by Poland’s 2040 Energy Policy. It is focused primarily on maintaining production capacity, high profitability ratios, respect for the environment as well as maintaining the position of an economic and social pillar of the region.
