Bogdanka stays with Motor

Bogdanka will continue to support Motor Lublin speedway riders in the next season. On Tuesday, 20 December, a sponsorship continuation agreement was signed at the company's headquarters.

During a Tuesday press conference attended by, among others, the director of the Presiding Bureau of the Law and Justice Party (PiS), Michał Moskal, it was announced that Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka is extending its sponsorship agreement with the Speedway Motor Lublin club, which participates in the speedway PGE Ekstraliga.

For Bogdanka as the economic pillar of the region, supporting local communities is very important. We want to share what creates value with local communities, with sports, with culture. And that's what this agreement does,

said Artur Wasilewski, acting President of the Management Board.

Last season, the Lublin “Goats” fulfilled the dreams of all fans, winning the coveted title of Polish team champion for the first time in history. In 1991, Motor Lublin took second place in the top competition class. We had to wait as long as thirty years for the next medal. The 2022 gold medal is the third in the history of the Team Speedway Polish Championship for the Lublin team.

Bogdanka has been supporting Lublin Speedway for many years. Seeing these filled stands, the fantastic atmosphere, the interest in the sport among our employees, and above all the potential of this team, we have made the decision to continue supporting the senior team next season,

said Vice-President of the Management Board for Strategy and Development Kasjan Wyligała.

State Treasury companies allocate more than 200 million zlotys for sports sponsorship. These are huge funds that allow teams such as Motor Lublin, teams that have been supported by Bogdanka for many years, to achieve spectacular successes,

said Michał Moskal, director of the Presiding Bureau of Law and Justice.

Without such cooperation with companies like the Bogdanka mine, it would not be possible to participate in the PGE Ekstraliga at such a high level. We know that our success from this season will be closely watched by fans. We will do our best to defend this title,” assured Jakub Kępa, president of Speedway Motor Lublin.

The Goats will take their first match of the new season on 9 April. Their rival will be Sparta Betard Wrocław.
