At Enea Group's joint results conference, held on 18 April in Warsaw, analysts and journalists had the opportunity to learn the details of the Group’s financial and operating results for 2023. The conference summarized the achievements of Bogdanka and the Enea Group, and discussed prospects for future periods. Let us recall that Bogdanka already published its results on 20 March, achieving in 2023 the highest revenues and the highest profits in its entire history.
Representatives of business, local governments, universities and research centres from across Poland participated in the "Circular economy - no longer a choice, but a necessity" conference in Lublin on 21 February 2024. The event was organized by Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A., Coordinator of the Lublin Region Circular Economy Cluster.
The beginning of the year brings more excellent news from the Bogdanka coal mine. This time, the miners can boast of preparing to mine the longest longwall not only in the company's history, but also in the history of the entire hard coal mining industry in Poland!
Just before Christmas, Lublin’s largest anti-smog mural was completed as a contribution not only to the city’s visual diversity, but also to the efforts at improving air quality. The new mural, covering an impressive 400 m2 of space, was painted on the facade of a building at ul. Montażowa 13 in the Tatary district.
Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka is celebrating a historic moment today, having mined the 200-millionth ton of coal since its establishment. The mine, which has been in operation in the Lublin region since 1982, attained this impressive achievement, thereby confirming that it belongs to the category of the largest and most efficient mines in the entire history of hard coal mining in Poland.
In accordance with our Development Strategy for 2023–2030, we intend to invest in energy storage facilities and large-scale renewable energy farms with a total capacity of approx. 500 MW in Lubelskie Voivodeship.
Bogdanka, a leading Polish hard coal producer, will act as a strategic sponsor of the Platinum Motor Lublin speedway riders in the upcoming season. The agreement for the next season was signed at the Company’s head office, on Thursday, 14 December 2023. The history of Bogdanka’s support for Lublin’s speedway dates back to 2010, and the current decision to continue the cooperation was made on the basis of a variety of factors, including an analysis of the sponsorship project’s effectiveness.
Bogdanka has become a laureate of the ESG Innovator 2023 contest in category [G] – Innovation in Corporate Governance. The Company has received the Golden Award for creating Poland’s first Scientific Council for Environmental Protection operating at a mining company. The Council is an external and fully independent advisory team of experts charged with the task of issuing opinions for the LWB Management Board pertaining to investments and other decisions related to environmental aspects and impact.
Traditionally, on 4 December, St. Barbara's Day, the mining community at LW Bogdanka celebrated the Miners' Day. The event was an opportunity for the presentation of 287 awards and distinctions, the official unveiling of the Miners' Memorial Monument and expressing wishes on the occasion.
LW Bogdanka S.A. has published its consolidated financial results after the first 3 quarters of 2023. LW Bogdanka Group's revenue for the period was PLN 2,688.8 million. EBITDA reached PLN 673.4 million, operating profit PLN 309.0 million and net profit PLN 256.7 million.
