BOGDANKA LUK Lublin - New name of Lublin's PlusLiga team
Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka has become the title sponsor of the men's volleyball team previously known as LUK Lublin. As of the new volleyball PlusLiga season, the team will be known as BOGDANKA LUK Lublin.
The sponsorship agreement between Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. and LKPS Lublin Sp. z o.o. was concluded on 9 August 2023 in Bogdanka. The parties agreed on the financial support of the BOGDANKA LUK Lublin team in PlusLiga games in the 2023/2024 season and in the 2024/2025 season - until the end of 2024. The amount of the support was not disclosed. Thanks to the financial commitment, LW Bogdanka will receive, among other things: the right to the name of the team BOGDANKA LUK Lublin (title sponsorship), and in addition the brand "Bogdanka" will be displayed in the most prestigious and visible places, including on: match outfits and all of the team's sportswear, stickers placed on the court, electronic banners placed in close proximity to the playing field, and on the walls for TV interviews.
In recent months, we have studied the potential of this project very carefully. When choosing LUK Lublin, we were guided by the idea of running the club, the prospects for its development, and the great popularity of the PlusLiga volleyball games. Now we want to take another step forward together, and the goal we set before the team in the coming season is promotion to the play-off phase. Our dreams reach higher, but as a long-distance sponsor we believe that the beautiful pages of history are yet to come, and in the perspective of the next few years the team will join the national top,

LW Bogdanka became LUK's sponsor in the latter part of last season. Already then we saw a great marketing potential in this sponsorship project. Not without significance is the fact that volleyball is, after soccer, the most popular sport in our country, with great successes involving the national team and Polish clubs,

The Lublin volleyball team, already with the new name Bogdanka LUK Lublin, will soon be seen by volleyball fans at the PLS Grand Prix tournament on 17 August in Gdańsk and at the Tomasz Wójtowicz Bogdanka Cup, in which alongside the hosts, we will see two top Polish teams - Jastrzębski Węgiel and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów - as well as one team from Italy's top league Saturnia Volley.
Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka is the largest patron of sports in the Lublin region. As part of its volleyball portfolio, it also supports the CHKS Arka Chełm and Avia Świdnik teams at the Tauron 1st league level. In 2022 Bogdanka supported around 1,500 athletes in more than 30 major sports projects implemented in the Lubelskie Voivodeship.
We firmly believe that the support of Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka is a guarantee of stability. Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka is an institution that triumphs in its industry, and this will certainly inspire us to develop further and achieve ambitious sports goals. The enrichment of the Team's name marks the beginning of a new phase in the Club's history. We have reached it thanks to the support of many companies and institutions and well-wishers, and above all thanks to the City of Lublin and LUK, which have supported us practically since the beginning of the Club. We are proud and grateful that we can still rely on them. At the same time, the new name of the team - Bogdanka LUK Lublin - sends a clear message that our Club is ready to take on new challenges. Since October of 2015 Bogdanka has been a member of the Enea Group, the second largest player on Poland’s electrical power market in terms of the generation of electricity, which manages the entire value chain on the electricity market ranging from fuel to the generation of electricity, distribution, sales (supply) and customer service.
