Statement of Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka in connection with the parliamentary intervention

Lubelski Węgiel “Bogdanka” S.A. hereby reports that on 1 February this year, a parliamentary intervention took place at the Company's headquarters, carried out by Civic Coalition MPs, Marta Wcisło and Joanna Frydrych.

Undertaking parliamentary intervention, MPs are obliged to act on the basis and within the limits of the law. In accordance with Article 20 sec. 1 and 2 of the Act on Exercising the Mandate of Member of Parliament and Senator (this is the legal basis indicated in the body of the letter of 27 January 2023), the MP has the right to obtain information about the case and the method of its handling, but in compliance with the regulations on legally protected secrecy.

Lubelski Węgiel “Bogdanka” S.A., being an issuer of securities admitted to trading on the regulated market, in accordance with the relevant provisions of law, including the MAR, is obliged to publish current reports on its website to provide information on all events that have a significant impact on the economic, property or financial situation of the Company or that may significantly affect the price or value of listed financial instruments.

The aforementioned letter was clarified today as regards the information the MPs requested. A relevant reply will be provided within the timeframe stipulated by the aforementioned act.

At the same time, Lubelski Węgiel “Bogdanka” S.A. would like to expressly emphasize that it provides all necessary information to competent and authorized authorities on an ongoing basis.

Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. is a leading hard coal producer in Poland that stands apart from its peers in terms of its modern and efficient mining. It is one of the largest Polish hard coal mines. Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. chiefly conducts mining operations in terms of hard coal extraction, enrichment and sales. It supplies this raw material mainly to industrial offtakers. Supply contracts are long-term, and the product is sold to the commercial power sector and the industrial power sector.

The company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since June of 2009. In August 2022, Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. returned to listing on the WIG-ESG Index.

Since October of 2015 Bogdanka has been a member of the Enea Group, the second largest player on Poland’s electrical power market in terms of the generation of electricity, which manages the entire value chain on the electricity market ranging from fuel to the generation of electricity, distribution, sales (supply) and customer service.
