On Tuesday, 7 February 2023, at the university's headquarters, Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka and the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Chełm signed a letter of intent on cooperation as a platform for effective cooperation between the science and business sectors.

The purpose of the signed agreement is to potentiate the scientific and teaching potential of the units along with maximizing the practical application of the knowledge gained in the course of study, leading to increased student involvement and motivating students to continuously improve.

We are very pleased to establish a formal cooperation with the university. This will make it possible to match the study curriculum to the most current needs not only of the Company but also the requirements of the local economy. At the same time, there will be an opportunity for a permanent and direct exchange of information and solutions, in particular, those related to Bogdanka's operations,

said Artur Wasilewski, Vice-President of the Management Board for Economic and Financial Affairs.

The signatories of the letter declared, among other things, cooperation in the area of providing Bogdanka with a list of dissertation topics useful from the perspective of the company, as well as substantive preparation and co-organization of activities complementing the course of studies, such as study visits and other workshop projects aimed at students.

Bogdanka faces challenges not only of a business nature, but also social ones. For years, we have been a recognized and responsible partner in the Lublin region which cares about the proper development of its future personnel. Beginning cooperation with the State Academy of Applied Sciences will allow the university's students and academic staff to join the development projects carried out at the Company, and selected students of the university to be employed at Bogdanka,

said Adam Partyka – Vice-President of the Management Board for Labor and Social Affairs.

The signatories of the letter emphasize that one of the most important goals of the agreement is to attract properly educated future human resources for local businesses and scientific research work that meets current business needs.
