LW Bogdanka named transparent company of 2018
LW BOGDANKA S.A. has been included in the group of laureates of the 3rd edition of the Transparent Company of the Year ranking for 2018, organised by the “Parkiet” daily and the Polish Accounting and Tax Institute, under honorary auspices of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Bogdanka received the title as a company making part of the mWIG40 index. This is the second special recognition of L.W. Bogdanka in this ranking.
The Transparent Company of the Year ranking is based on a questionnaire study on the main areas of communication between the company and the market, i.e. financial and general reporting, investor relations, and rules of corporate governance.
For the second time, the special recognition in the Transparent Company of the Year ranking is for us a confirmation that our efforts to function according to the highest standards regarding communication with investors and rules of corporate governance are highly esteemed by capital market representatives. In December of 2018 LW Bogdanka also qualified, for the tenth time, to be included in the prestigeous RESPECT Index, recognising companies listed on WSE which are managed in a particularily responsible and balanced manner. The project was launched by the Warsaw Stock Exchange in Warsaw in 2009, when the first composition of the Index was announced.
Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. is a leading hard coal producer in Poland that stands apart from its peers in terms of its modern and efficient mining. It is one of the largest Polish hard coal mines. Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. chiefly conducts mining operations in terms of hard coal extraction, enrichment and sales. It supplies this raw material mainly to industrial offtakers. Supply contracts are long-term, and the product is sold to the commercial power sector and the industrial power sector.
The company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since June of 2009. In August 2022, Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. returned to listing on the WIG-ESG Index.
Since October of 2015 Bogdanka has been a member of the Enea Group, the second largest player on Poland’s electrical power market in terms of the generation of electricity, which manages the entire value chain on the electricity market ranging from fuel to the generation of electricity, distribution, sales (supply) and customer service.
