Lubelski Węgiel “Bogdanka” S.A. and Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. signed a letter of intent
On 30 November 2024, Lubelski Węgiel “Bogdanka” S.A. and Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. signed a letter of intent at the Company’s headquarters, paving the way for closer cooperation in the area of optimization of the production processes.
The two companies have committed to sharing experience and information to improve the quality of business management and increase operational efficiency. The cooperation envisages, among other things, the development of new technologies, joint work on innovations in maintenance planning for machinery and equipment, and the analysis of potential synergies in investments.
The signing of the letter of intent is an important step towards integrating the knowledge and experience of the two key players in the Polish mining industry. We believe that the cooperation will allow the effective implementation of innovative technological and organisational solutions that will increase the efficiency of our processes, but will also contribute to increasing occupational safety. What is more, by drawing on JSW’s experience in the area of risks not present at our mine, we will be able to better prepare for potential challenges. We are convinced that the exchange of experience and the joint initiatives will bring tangible benefits to our companies

The signed document paves the way for further work to develop joint solutions that will increase innovation and productivity in our companies.

The signing of the document underlines the willingness of both parties to work together in a spirit of mutual trust and partnership, which is of key importance in view of the challenges facing the mining sector in Poland.
Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. is a leading hard coal producer in Poland that stands apart from its peers in terms of its modern and efficient mining. It is one of the largest Polish hard coal mines. Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. chiefly conducts mining operations in terms of hard coal extraction, enrichment and sales. It supplies this raw material mainly to industrial offtakers. Supply contracts are long-term, and the product is sold to the commercial power sector and the industrial power sector.
The company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since June of 2009. In August 2022, Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. returned to listing on the WIG-ESG Index.
Since October of 2015 Bogdanka has been a member of the Enea Group, the second largest player on Poland’s electrical power market in terms of the generation of electricity, which manages the entire value chain on the electricity market ranging from fuel to the generation of electricity, distribution, sales (supply) and customer service.
