Bogdanka supports flood victims

The company is gearing up to support people affected by the disaster that occurred in southern Poland. The company donated 150 portable beds, sleeping bags and pillows to the Solidarni Górnicy Foundation, which will hand them over to the Lublin branch of Caritas to go to the people in need.

Employees gather key products at the plant and they can donate part of their wages to the flood victims.  A dedicated in-house team organises transport and stays in touch with crisis managers to adapt the provided support to the current needs.

Special boxes were installed in Bogdanka, Nadrybie and Stefanów, as well as at the miners' canteen, where employees can donate gifts for flood victims. The company encourages people to share things that are particularly needed at the moment.

The goods that are particularly important for the impacted areas include foods with a long shelf life, including canned food, groats, rice and instant ramen. Bottled drinking water and cleaning and personal hygiene products, including soap, toothpaste and hair shampoo, are also needed. Once again, miners unite to help others, who are facing the consequences of the disaster. I am grateful to all staff for your wonderful response and willingness to help others. This attitude proves that miners are not only a tight-knit professional group, but above all people with big hearts,

-said Zbigniew Stopa, Chairman of the Management Board of LW Bogdanka.

The company encourages employees and the local community to donate tools such as shovels, buckets, hammers, torches, candles, gloves and safety glasses. Bogdanka employees will also have the opportunity to support flood victims financially. In October, all employees will be able to donate part of their salary to the affected populace.

Seeing our employees band together in crisis situations, working hand in hand and doing actual things to help others gives us a sense of agency and brings us closer in the face of a disaster. Bogdanka's strength lies in its people - moments like this one make it all the more certain. Thank you very much to everyone who is involved in this support,

-said Aleksandra Jarosz, a volunteer from LW Bogdanka coordinating the aid campaign.

The actions taken by Bogdanka and its employees are a show of support for those affected by the natural disaster, as well as an example of the social responsibility that has been part of the company's activities for years. Organising the donation bins at plants and encouraging employees to take an active part in the support campaign shows that help extends beyond funds and goods, and involves an emotional aspect - unity and standing together. In addition to Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka, RG Bogdanka, MR Bogdanka, Łęczna Energetyka, PHU Górnik and the Honorary Blood Donors Club at LW Bogdanka are also involved in the campaign.
