LW Bogdanka sets new monthly output record
LW BOGDANKA S.A. has set a new monthly output record in January of this year. The miners of Bogdanka extracted 903.5 thousand tonnes of commercial coal in this time period, thus beating the output record achieved in December of 2014.
The new record was set thanks to all the fields: Bogdanka, Stefanów, and Nadrybie. To put it into perspective, the average monthly output in 2018 was 750 thousand tonnes.

Setting this record was possible thanks to the well planned mix of plough and shearer walls, which was enabled by last year’s intence preparatory works, among others. We are well prepared for completing this year’s expected coal production for the level of 9.4 million tonnes. Bogdanka, the most modern and most effective mine for hard coal in Poland, sets many records for effectiveness. This year in January, the Mining Chamber of Industry and Commerce awarded Bogdanka for its innovative technology for drilling. Thanks to this new technology, in June 2018 the Company built 820 running metres of top gallery 2/IV/389 in one month, setting a new monthly record for progress in drilling.
