The employees of LW Bogdanka S.A. joined a blood donation campaign on the premises of the mine on 12 and 13 August 2015. The two-day event attracted nearly 50 employees ready to donate their blood. Of these, 34 actually donated their blood and were entered in the bone marrow donor register.

This support is very important, say the personnel of the Regional Centre for Blood Donation and Blood-Based Therapy (Regionalne Centrum Krwiodawstwa i Krwiolecznictwa, RCKiK) in Lublin. Each unit of blood is important, as this can help save someone’s life. The Regional Centre for Blood Donation and Blood-Based Therapy appeals to blood donors to remember about the patients who need their blood, especially in the summer holiday season.

It was the third blood and donor donation event this year that was supported by the Company together with the Solidarni Górnicy (or Miners’ Solidarity) Foundation and the Regional Centre for Blood Donation and Blood-Based Therapy. The event followed the tripartite agreement signed in 2015 in which the signatories agreed to work together to promote blood donation, blood-based therapy and the bone marrow donor register.
