Bogdanka with Renewed ISO Certificates
In May this year, LW Bogdanka had itself audited for compliance with ISO standards and the Integrated Management System that is in place in the Company. For several years now, our mine has held certificates of compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 as well as a certificate of compliance to British Standard BS OHSAS 18001.
The purpose of this year’s audit, in addition to verifying the internal procedures described in the HSE Integrated Management System, was to renew the certificates that expired on 31 May 2015.
This year’s auditors were Bureau Veritas Certification Polska. The audit involved:
- confirming the scope of the system and its completeness,
- confirming that the management system meets all the requirements of the reference standard,
- confirming that the scope of certification is adequate to the system,
- confirming that the management system is an effective tool for implementing the organisation’s objective achievement and continuous improvement policy,
- obtaining a recommendation for the certification decision.
In the conclusions from the audit (Audit Report 8656199), the audit team confirmed that the organisation has a quality management system that complies with the requirements of the reference standard. The organisation demonstrated the system’s ability to achieve the objectives within the defined scope of the system.
- The organisation presented evidence of effective operation, maintenance and improvement of the management system.
- The audit confirmed that the management system meets the requirements of the standard and shows evidence of effectiveness in achieving goals and objectives, as well as continuous improvement.
- One the basis of the audit performed on site and the evidence obtained, the auditor recommended the system for certification.
As a result, LW Bogdanka S.A. became the holder of renewed certificates (as regards exploration, production and sale of commercial coal):
- occupational health and safety management system to British Standard BS OHSAS 18001:2007,
- integrated management system to PN-EN ISO 9001:2009, PN-EN ISO 14001:2005, and PN-N-18001:2004.
