During the prize award ceremony at the Lublin Castle, the Mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof Żuk, presented LW Bogdanka S.A. with the 2014 Patron of Culture Prize. The award was accepted from the hands of the head of the city by Roger de Bazelaire, Vice-President of the Management Board for Economic and Financial Affairs.

The special event was yet another edition of a local contest which aims to honour and recognise individuals and institutions with special contribution to the development of the local artistic space and the arts. The project also focuses on promoting Lublin activists, people with outstanding artistic achievements, as well as all those entities for whom commitment and concern for the cultural space are important, integral and valuable components of their business.

This is very much in line with the approach of the Company, which has for many years supported a number of cultural, social, educational and other initiatives as a tangible expression of its conviction that concern for cultural goods and traditions is part of every company’s responsibility for stable and sustainable local development.

Other categories in which prizes were awarded included:
-   Artistic Achievement – awarded to Piotr Selim,
-   Dissemination of Culture – awarded Zdzisław Ohar,
-   Lifetime Achievements – awarded to Grażyna Lutosławska.

Furthermore, the medal of the Mayor of Lublin was awarded to Katarzyna Mieczkowska-Czerniak, and special prizes were given to Andrzej Boublej, Maria Dąbrowska, Marta Horabik-Piasecka, Renata Kiełbińska, Grzegorz Kondrasiuk, Katarzyna Poleszak, Karolina Rozwód and Joanna Wysocka-Pikało.
